I appreciate your interest in working with me! I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate in the state of North Carolina. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Alabama and my Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Auburn University. I am also a member of the American Counseling Association. Originally from Chicago, IL, I recently relocated to Raleigh, NC and am eager to support the mental health of the community here.
I have clinical experience working in short-term in-patient child/adolescent and adult psychiatry units, engaging with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, psychosis, trauma, depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, homicidal ideation, and behavioral concerns. I also have experience as an academic coach for college-aged students adjusting to the academic demands and environment of college.
Populations Served: children (ages 7+), adolescents, and adults
Areas of Interest/Specialization: anxiety, depression, adjustments, behavioral concerns, trauma, SMI
Therapeutic Approaches: I utilize a person-centered therapeutic approach with an integrated lens, specifically including cognitive behavioral and solution-focused techniques depending on what each individual client needs. I first work to build a strong therapeutic alliance with my clients by creating a safe, warm atmosphere in the counseling room. Then, I collaborate with clients on identifying and working from their strengths and values to overcome their challenges and accomplish their goals.
