Overview: I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate and Certified Rehabilitation Counselor. I earned my Bachelor’s in Psychology and Special Education from High Point University and Master’s in Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I enjoy working with adolescents and adults, providing a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients can explore challenges related to anxiety, depression, self-esteem, relationships, family dynamics, academic stress, and life transitions. My goal is to help clients feel understood, empowered, and equipped with the tools they need to thrive both now and in the future.
Populations: Ages 8+, children, adolescents, young adults, and parents
Areas of Specialization: Anxiety, depression, OCD tendencies, relationship challenges, life transitions, ADHD, Autism
Educational Consulting Services: I provide Educational Consulting services (separate from therapy sessions) to families who would like more support when working with the school. I can help facilitate conversations and relationships between schools and families, attend IEP/504 meetings, review plans and assist with researching and choosing programs when developing a plan. Services are developed on a case-by-case basis as everyone’s needs are different. I also can provide 1:1 training to parents and kids about their diagnosis. I have developed “Mental Illnesses and Neurodevelopmental Disabilities Training” (MIND Training) to support kids and families learn about different diagnoses through evidence-based practices, interactive activities and practical applications. Ultimately, I want both the parents and children to understand their diagnosis, accommodations in school, and have the support and confidence to achieve their goals. Please note there is a separate consent and financial agreement for consulting services.
Therapeutic Approaches: My approach is warm, collaborative, and relatable. I use a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients better understand their thoughts, emotions, and patterns while developing practical tools for coping, communication, emotional regulation, boundaries, anxiety, and self-esteem. I believe therapy should feel supportive and real — a space where you can be honest without judgment and learn skills that actually apply to everyday life.
