I received my Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling as well as my certification in Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counseling from Hofstra University located in Hempstead New York. I have experience working in a Raleigh Psychiatric Hospital helping to stabilize patients of all ages in crisis situations. I also worked with the New York City Fire Department Counseling Service Unit in an intensive outpatient where I provided therapy to those struggling with addiction and recovery, as well as their families.
As a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor- Associate, I create a safe and non-judgmental environment where clients are able to explore issues and improve the quality of their lives. I use an integrative style of psychotherapy that pulls from many different approaches, with an emphasis on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. As a certified yoga Instructor, I enjoy bringing mindfulness into the counseling session.
